Vol. 354 No. 2

Written Answers. - Income Tax.

619.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a proper tax free allowance is not being allowed to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will rectify the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, on the basis of the latest information (relating to the year 1983-84) available to the inspector, the taxpayer has been granted for 1984-85 all the allowances and reliefs to which he is entitled on the basis of that information. However, the inspector will now send the taxpayer, for completion by him, a return of income for the year 1984-85, and, when the completed form is returned to the inspector, any necessary adjustments in the taxpayer's allowances and reliefs will be made.
