The national plan Building on Reality 1984-1987 outlines at paragraph 7.85 the priorities in regard to additional provision in the third level sector.
Having regard to these priorities for the duration of the plan it is not possible to give any commitment to the provision of a regional college for Wexford. In this connection it should be noted that the regional technical colleges were originally established to serve designated regions, each region comprising a number of counties or parts thereof. The northern part of County Wexford is served by Carlow Regional Technical College while the southern part is served by Waterford Regional Technical College.
