Written Answers. - County Cork Garda Stations.

74.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has any plans to have the gardaí housed in the garda barracks in Meelin, Newmarket, County Cork, as a substantial amount of money has been spent on the barracks to make it habitable.

Limerick East): The Garda station in Meelin which is a rented premises, is in poor condition. It is proposed to vacate this station and to convert the Garda house at Meelin for use as a station. I am informed by the Office of Public Works that it is not correct to say that money has been spent in recent times on the existing Garda station.

75.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will confirm whether there are any plans to close the Garda barracks at Knocknagree, County Cork.

Limerick East): There is no proposal to close Knocknagree station.
