Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

71.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a £2,000 new house grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when this will be paid.

A new house grant was approved in this case on 19 February 1986. However, a grant cannot be paid until an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and all the conditions of the scheme have been fulfilled. An inspection is now being arranged.

72.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a £5,000 surrender grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Applications for the £5,000 grant are handled entirely by the appropriate local authority up to the stage of certification for payment. A certificate from the local authority confirming that this application has complied with all the conditions for payment of the grant has not yet been received by the Department.
