Chapter 3 of the Green Paper on Transport Policy, published in November 1985 is devoted to provincial bus services. That chapter reflects conclusions reached at that stage of the review of the Road Transport Act, 1932. The deadline for comments and submissions on the Green Paper was 31 March 1986.
A number of bodies and individuals have made comments on chapter 3 and these are now being considered in the context of the review of policy for the bus area. My conclusions as regards the future direction of bus policy will be included in the White Paper on transport which I intend to publish later this year.
