My Department will shortly sanction works to make safe the mineshaft in question. The contractor will be chosen from a number of contractors who responded to invitations from the Office of Public Works to tender for the work. A contribution will not be sought from the person mentioned by the Deputy towards the cost as the works will not involve provision of a water supply for him.
