Vol. 365 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

24.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford has been refused a house improvement grant.

A previous reconstruction grant had been paid in respect of the house on 27 October, 1981. A period of seven years would have to elapse from that date before payment of the normal grant for works to the fabric of the house (including replacement of defective windows/doors) could be allowed. The special grant for pre-1940 dwellings does not apply as the approved cost of the proposed works was less than the qualifying threshold of £4,000.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person details supplied) in County Waterford has not been paid a house improvement grant despite the fact he intends living in the house.

The grant has not been paid because it has not been established that the house is occupied by the applicant as a normal place of residence in accordance with the terms of the scheme.
