Vol. 366 No. 2

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

54.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is entitled to disability benefit on a recent claim; if so, when payments will be made; and if not, the reason.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 24 February 1986. He was not entitled to benefit at the commencement of his claim as according to the records of the Department he had less than the required minimum of 26 contributions paid since entry into insurable employment.

He subsequently submitted details of his employment record confirming that he has sufficient contributions paid to qualify for payment of benefit. All benefit payable to 5 April 1986, when he was certified fit to resume work, has now been issued to the person concerned.
