The final cost of the construction of these chalets is not available as the building work is not yet fully completed. It is expected, however, that the final cost will be very close to the approved figure of £1.73 million allocated for the project.
Funding was provided under the special border areas programme set up by the EC and the Irish Government in 1983.
There was full consultation between my Department and Bord Fáilte prior to the commencement of the project.
