Sanction for the payment of the 25th round pay increases in the case of such grades in vocational education committees in the Dublin area was issued by my Department in July 1986. Unions representing the staff in other VECs with the exception of Cork VEC have only recently indicated their acceptance of the 25th round pay increases offered for such staff and a circular sanctioning payment of the award will be issued to those VECs shortly. The City of Cork VEC situation is being examined in the context of the recent settlement for operative grades in Cork Corporation.
