asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the undue delay in processing an application for a mortgage subsidy for a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will confirm that moneys due will be paid without further delay.

There has been no undue delay; the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid when the applicant submits the claim form duly completed and certified by the lending agency.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding an application for a new house grant and builder's grant by persons (details supplied) in County Tipperary who are experiencing delays in having their application processed; and when outstanding moneys will be paid.

There has been no undue delay; an inspection with a view to approval of the £2,000 new house grant will be carried out as soon as possible. A decision in relation to the builder's grant must await the receipt of additional information requested from the applicant.

There has been no undue delay; an inspection was carried out in this case recently but the applicant was not at home when the inspector called. A further inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the average delay in payment of new house grants between notification by applicants of completion of work and actual payment of grants.

The average period taken to process applications for new house grants from receipt of notification of completion of works to payment is 16-20 weeks.
