Secondary schools are allocated £125per capita grant for equipment, materials and other expenses in respect of their participation in the VPT programmes. This financial support is provided for secondary schools on the grounds that these schools would not have the resources (equipment and materials) to run the programme due to their traditional involvement in academic education.
Provision is made for equipment in respect of vocational preparation and training programmes in community and comprehensive schools and vocational schools through the mechanism of the annual financial allocations from the Department.
