asked the Minister for the Marine, in respect of the most recent 12 months for which figures are available (a) the total landings of fish in Ireland and (b) the total allowable catch in respect of the various species of fish allowed to Ireland for 1989.

An amount of 217,039 tonnes of seafish was landed by Irish vessels into Irish ports in 1987, the latest year for which comprehensive figures are available. The information in tabular form sets out, by ICES area, the 1989 total allowable catch (TACs) for the relevant species and the quota allocation to Ireland of that TAC.
