Vol. 408 No. 8

Finance Bill, 1991: Allocation of Time.

By agreement, it is proposed that the proceedings on the Committee Stage of the Finance Bill, 1991, shall be brought to a conclusion in accordance with the following timetable: Chapters IV-VI of Part I to conclude not later 12.30 p.m.; Part I to conclude not later than 1.30 p.m.; Parts II and III to conclude not later than 7 p.m.; Parts IV and V to conclude not later than 9.30 p.m.; and the Committee Stage to conclude not later than 10.30 p.m. Where proceedings have not concluded by the stated time, they shall be brought to a conclusion by one question which shall be put by the Chair and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only amendments set down by the Minister for Finance.

(Limerick East): I consulted with my colleagues in The Workers' Party and The Labour Party last night but when I was putting the suggestion to them I did not realise there was a sos from 1.30 to 2.30 p.m., so that the Part which would have had a two-hour debate will only have a debate of one hour. I would like to draw that to the attention of Deputies Quinn and Rabbitte. There is an alteration because I did not allow for the sos.

Perhaps the Minister would arrange for the circulation of that timetable during the next ten to 20 minutes.

That will be done.

Is that agreed? Agreed.
