162 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give the Irish position on the phasing out of organohalogens to be discussed at the June meeting of the Paris Convention.
Wexford): The Irish position is to fully support the basic aims and objectives of the Oslo and Paris Commissions' Action Plan, as agreed in September, 1992, with regard to the protection of the marine environment of the North East Atlantic. In that context, we will support further control measures necesary to reduce inputs of harmful substances, including organohalogens.
