98 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the progress, if any, being made in the case of a prisoner (details supplied) whose conviction is under active examination by the Criminal Cases Review Commission in England; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26844/99]
As the Deputy is aware, this case has been under investigation by the Criminal Cases Review Commission since April 1997. The commission has referred the case to the Court of Appeal but no date has yet been set for the case. The embassy will continue to monitor progress closely in this case in consultation with his legal representative and I will keep in touch with the Deputy in the matter.
