83 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will consider contacting local authorities requesting them not to sponsor events involving the promotion of alcohol in the context of his policy on alcohol sponsorship. [6331/01]

I discourage sponsorship arrangements between local authorities and alcohol companies, but ultimately the responsibility lies with the local authority itself.
