Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31. I call on the Deputies in the order in which they submitted their notices to my office.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate a matter of major local and national importance: the closure and sale of a number of Teagasc offices, in particular, the research centre in Ballinamore, County Leitrim and the advice centre in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim and if it is Government policy that Teagasc will sell off part of its property portfolio to deal with current budgetary restrictions caused by the cuts in the Estimates.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of urgent national importance: the use of incineration in the waste policy and its harmful effects on the environment and public health generally and the release of dioxins into the atmosphere particularly in regard to the proposed plants at Killacorn, Emyvale and Carranstown, County Meath.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of urgent national importance: the escalation of the crisis in the country's health service by the closure of 50 beds in the Mater Hospital, the consequential long delays for patients before being admitted to hospital and the warning by the Irish Hospital Consultants' Association that this type of cuts will result in more than 80,000 planned operations and procedures being postponed or cancelled – the equivalent of two regional hospitals and one general hospital.
