60 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence the extent to which he has engaged with his EU Ministerial counterparts in the context of future defence and security arrangements in Europe; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29620/03]
The future of defence and security arrangements in Europe is germane to the discussions currently under way in the context of the Intergovernmental Conference on the draft EU constitution. As this comes under the remit of my colleague, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, I have not entered into discussions with my defence counterparts on this issue.
