Business of Joint Committee.
I have been contacted by a number of people with a view to making presentations to the committee or to invite the committee to consider visiting them. For example, the electricity research centre in UCD is doing a great deal of work independently researching renewable energy potential and issues such as the electricity grid. If we are in the habit of visiting locations reasonably close to Leinster House, we should consider visiting the centre.
I would encourage the committee to visit groups that come under our remit on Tuesdays if they are conveniently located because that would broaden our knowledge base and show respect to those involved. The Deputy should give his list to the clerk to the committee. It may be more appropriate to invite some groups to make a presentation but if it is suitable for us to visit them, we will do that.
