Customs (Amendment) Bill, 1945—Message from Dáil.

"Dáil Eireann has agreed to amendment No. 1 made by Seanad Eireann to the Customs (Amendment) Bill, 1945; it has agreed to amendment No. 2 with the following amendment:—

In the new sub-section (3), inserted in Section 9, the words and brackets ‘(including any costs incurred by him or any reference to the Supreme Court as provided by the next following section)', deleted.

to which the agreement of Seanad Eireann is desired."

Mr. Quirke

I move:—

That the Seanad do agree to the amendment made by the Dáil to amendment No. 2 made by the Seanad to the Customs (Amendment) Bill, 1945.

Mr. Hayes

I think that is a sound idea, because the amendment was made on the Fourth Stage and it was not altogether perfect. The Dáil has put the amendment right and we should agree to it.
