I have received notice from Senator McHugh that on the motion for the adjournment of the House to-night he proposes to raise the question on the following matter:—
To call the attention of the Minister for Education to the effects upon our education system of reduced Government grants to Vocational Education Committees and of the increased emigration of teachers.
Before finally accepting this motion, I feel I should say that the Senator desires to deal with two distinct matters. One is the reduction of grants to vocational education committees; the other is the increased emigration of teachers. I am prepared to accept notice from the Senator to have either of the matters raised, but it seems to me impossible to discuss the two separate matters under the one motion; so I would like to have an intimation from the Senator as to the one with which he proposes to deal.
