Seanad Éireann díospóireacht -
Wednesday, 11 May 1966

Vol. 61 No. 3

Public Business. - Message from Dáil.

Tá Dáil Éireann tar éis an Rún seo a leanas a rith agus is mian léi Seanad Éireann d'aontú leis:—

Go bhfuil sé oiriúnach go gcuirfear an Bille Cánach Ioncaim, 1966, faoi bhráid an Bhuan-Chomhchoiste um Billí Comhdhlúite.

Dáil Éireann has passed the following Resolution in which the concurrence of Seanad Éireann is desired:—

That it is expedient that the Income Tax Bill, 1966, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.

I move:—

That Seanad Éireann concurs with Dáil Éireann in its Resolution communicated to Seanad Éireann on the 5th day of May, 1966, that it is expedient that the Income Tax Bill, 1966, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.

I agree. I remember here on the occasion of one of the Finance Bills, when Senator Dr. Ryan was Minister for Finance, that I advocated the income tax law and I am glad that that is how it is to be done. I look forward with some apprehension to dealing with it as a member of the Joint Committee.

Question put and agreed to.
