SECTION 68.

: I move amendment No. 45:

In page 46, line 10, to delete subsection (4).

Amendment agreed to.
Question proposed: "That section 68, as amended, stand part of the Bill."

: Why was amendment No. 45 made if it was not intended that this Act or the other Acts would apply to a military designated area? Am I to assume that they are now to apply?

: The purpose of this section as a whole is to allow for the designation of areas of airspace for use by the Air Corps. Subsection (2) provides that civil aircraft can, with permission, operate in designated areas. Following publication of the Bill and further consideration we have decided that it would be inappropriate to provide that the Air Navigation Acts and this Bill should not apply to civil aircraft operating in military airspace. Consequently, civil aircraft going into military airspace will be bound by this Bill.

: Military aircraft operating in military airspace will not be bound. Is that correct?

: We have no control over military aircraft in military airspace. That is provided for in section 3 of the Bill.

Question put and agreed to.
