Ceist:708. Deputy Eamon Scanlon asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the status of a work permit renewal for a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19226/25]

The Employment Permits Section of the Department informs me that a renewal employment permit application for the person concerned in the details supplied was submitted to them on the 17th of February 2025 and was placed in the processing queue on the 18th of February 2025. The application was refused on the 11th of March 2025 for the following reasons:
• The annual remuneration stated on the renewal application was less that the remuneration specified for the employment permit type. It is not possible to issue a renewal employment permit in these circumstances.
• The renewal application was not received within the correct period after the expiry date of the first permit that issued.
• A copy of the Foreign Nationals passport showing their picture, their personal details the passport expiry date and their signature was not provided with the application which is a requirement under regulations.
The applicant was granted 28 days in which to request a review of the refusal decision in respect of the application. A request for a review was received on the 16th of April 2025 and it is currently assigned to a reviewing officer for consideration.
