QUESTIONS TO MINISTER FOR DEFENCE

said four written questions were put to him and he would now answer them as follows:—

(1) Was any attaché appointed to the armies of Turkey or Egypt? No.

(2) Could not some officers be sent to Russia to be trained? Yes, but no necessity for it now.

(3) What efforts were made to establish contact with Russia? That is a question for Foreign Affairs.

(4) How many service rifles in Ireland are under the control of I.R.A. and the average number of rounds? It was plain he could not answer that question.

(5) Was the destruction of enemy property in England organized? Tá.
