This is the complete result of the election by the Dáil of thirty members to the Seanad in strict mathematical order. I declare that pursuant to the terms of the Resolution passed by Dáil Eireann on the 1st November, 1922, the persons named in this list were elected to the First Seanad in the order of election specified in respect of each name:—
(1) Green, Alice Stopford.
(2) Griffith, John Purser.
(3) Douglas, James Green.
(4) O'Rourke, Bernard.
(5) Moore, Maurice.
(6) Molloy, William John.

(10) McLoughlin, John.

(12) Barrington, William.
(13) Duffy, Michael.

(15) Farren, Thomás.
(16) Linehan, Thomas.

(26) Nesbitt, George.
(27) Love, Clayton, Joseph.
(28) Parkinson, James J.
(29) Counihan, John C.

The orders of preference are given with strict mathematical accuracy. Article 82 of the Constitution, Sub-section (e), says:—“Of the thirty elected members the first fifteen elected shall hold office for nine years, and the remaining fifteen for three years.” The first fifteen names, therefore, on the list are elected to Seanad Eireann for nine years, and the second fifteen for three years.
