To ask the Minister for Finance whether it is the intention of the Ministry to place the employees of the Second Dáil, who are at present working under the Saorstát, on the permanent staff, and, if so, what will form the basis of their placing in the new grades.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - EMPLOYEES OF SECOND DAIL.
The pre-truce staff of the departments of the Second Dáil is being absorbed into the permanent Civil Service. The placing of these officers is a matter for consideration in individual cases, as it depends upon the qualifications and merits of the individual, but it is proposed in all cases to give pensionable status as from the date of original appointment under the Dáil.
