Vol. 2 No. 30

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - DEPENDENTS' ALLOWANCES. TULLAMORE APPLICATION.

To ask the Minister for Defence if he has received repeated applications for Dependent's allowance on behalf of Private Denis Walshe, Bride's Lane, Barrack Street, Tullamore, Offaly, now stationed at Military Prison, Portlaoighise, Leix; if he is aware that his aged mother has applied for and has been refused home help owing to delay in dealing with question of allowance, and, seeing that her son is now serving since April, 1922, if he will undertake to have the matter settled without further delay.

Several applications have been received and the matter has been under local investigation for some time. In the meantime a provisional allowance at the rate of £1 per fortnight has been paid since the 10th January last. The final assessment will be expedited.
