Vol. 2 No. 41

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - POWERS FOR NORTHERN RAILWAY.

To ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether his attention has been called to the fact that the Derry and Lough Swilly Railway Company are introducing a Bill in the English Parliament authorising them to borrow money, and having regard to the fact that the line of railway worked by this company is only three miles in area described as Northern Ireland and over one hundred miles in the territory of the Free State, he will consider whether an explanation should not be asked from this company as to why they should go to London for powers which they would obtain at home.

I have no knowledge of the fact stated in the first part of the question, but if the Deputy will furnish a copy of the Bill I will have it examined.
