[WRITTEN ANSWERS.] - ARRESTS AT SKRYNE.

A fhiafruidhe den Aire um Chosaint an fios do gur rug lucht an Airm ar fhear darab ainm Criostóir Ó hAodha, An Sgrín, Co. na Midhe, ar an 16adh d'Eanair, agus go bhfuil sé faoi ghlas in Ath-Thrium ó shoin; agus an féidir leis an Aire a rádh caidé an fáth a rugadh ar an bhfear seo, caidé an choir atá curtha i n-a leith agus cathoin a bheidh sé os comhair cúirte.

Do gabhadh ar Ó hAodha toisg amhras a bheith againn go raibh páirt aige i ngaduigheacht a bhí ar siubhal mór-thimcheall Sgrín agus Rath Feidh. Do h-orduigheadh ar an 22adh lá go sgaoilfí é.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether two young men named James O'Connell and C. Hughes, Skryne, Co. Meath, were arrested by National troops on January 16th or 17th; whether they are still detained without a charge being preferred against them; whether he is aware that it is stated on their behalf that they have not taken any active part against the Government, but that, on the contrary, they assisted the Government forces for some time after the outbreak of fighting; and to ask what are the prospects of the release of these prisoners.

Messrs. O'Connell and Hughes were arrested on suspicion of taking part in robberies in the Skreen and Rathfeigh districts. Their releases have now been ordered.
