asked the Minister for Finance whether persons employed under the Local Government Department of Dáil Eireann during any part of the period from 19th January, 1919, to 10th January, 1923, are to be required to pay Income Tax upon the salaries paid to them as such employees?

The law does not provide an exemption for salaries paid to any class of persons whose incomes bring them within the scope of Income Tax. As already stated in reply to a previous question it is not proposed to alter the law.
