Vol. 3 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - COLLOONEY-CLAREMORRIS RAILWAY.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when it is expected that the Collooney-Claremorris section of the Great Southern and Western Railway service, closed since last summer, will be reopened? If he is aware that owing to the discontinuance of this service a section of the country is completely cut off from rail communication? And if he is aware that the Railway Company has replied to private inquiries that it is ready to restore the service when it can get protection?

I am not aware that owing to the discontinuance of this service any section of the country is completely or incompletely cut off from rail communication.

I am not aware that the Railway Company has replied in the manner suggested by Deputy Figgis to any such questions; for I am aware that the Collooney-Claremorris service has been in operation for many weeks now. The Deputy's question suggests total ignorance of the situation by his informants.
