Vol. 6 No. 1

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - RETURN OF SEIZED GUN.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received repeated applications (claims A/l74) from Charles McLoughlin, Shranure, Derrykillane, Portarlington, Leix, for the return of his gun (or compensation for loss of same), which was taken from him by members of the I.R.A. during the period of the Anglo-Irish War, and if he can now state when he will be in a position to order the return of the gun, or pay the amount of compensation which he is receive for loss of same.

Applications have been received from Mr. Charles McLoughlin for the return of a gun stated to have been taken from him by disguised men in civilian dress in pre-Truce days. Efforts have been made by the military authorities to trace the gun, and to identify the persons who seized it, but without success.
