CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION FOR KILDARE SOLDIER.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Private Michael Kehoe, of Kill, Straffan, Co. Kildare, Army No. 10041, attested 1st August, 1922, was discharged 29th December, 1923, is disabled and unable to work owing to the dislocation of his left shoulder on three occasions whilst going through a course of training at the Remount Depot, Arbour Hill, Dublin, and whether the Minister will favourably consider the question of compensation to this man.

Mr. Kehoe attended a course in equitation at Arbour Hill Barracks from 8th to the 23rd May, 1923, during which period he fell from a horse and injured his shoulder. He was excused duty for three days, and was treated for his injuries. He then resumed the course, and, on its completion, was returned for duty to his unit He was examined and found to be medically fit on 9th July, 1923. In the circumstances a claim for compensation cannot be entertained.
