CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LONGFORD COMMANDEERED MOTOR.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim from Mr. P. Breaden, Dublin Street, Longford, for £242 10s, the amount due for private motor car commandeered by the Military Authorities in Longford on the 1st February, 1923, and also for hire of a lorry commandeered by the Military Authorities on two occasions—viz., 1st July, 1922, and 21st October, 1923, and also for articles missing from the lorry when returned; and whether in view of the fact that Mr. Breaden has made repeated application for the amount due and supplied the necessary particulars, including the receipt for the amount he paid for the private motor car, his claim will be paid without further delay.

The claim has been received, and negotiations with Mr. Breaden are being carried on Delay in settlement is due to his refusal to accept the car in its present condition. The consideration of the claim will be expedited.
