Vol. 6 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BALLYVOYLE RAILWAY VIADUCT.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to the report in the Dublin papers of 11th January, with pictorial illustrations, of the then completion of the Ballyvoyle Railway Viaduct, and whether this is correct, and, if so, if he will state why arrangements have not been made to resume direct traffic between Mallow and Waterford, an important district, which has suffered severely through its practical suspension for nearly 18 months, and, if the publication was incorrect, what date was fixed in the contract for the completion of this work, and when may the reopening of the system be expected.

The report referred to, which appeared in the Dublin papers, was not correct. The contract date for the completion of this bridge is 11th March. The Railway Company then has to lay the track, and the bridge should be ready for traffic on or about the 20th March.
