Vol. 6 No. 39

PRIVATE BUSINESS.

When does the President propose to give an opportunity for private business?

If I could get any intimation as to the length of time that private business may take, it would be much easier for me to answer. In the absence of that information I think it is due to the Dáil that we should take the business that was adjourned yesterday, and take the private business at 7 o'clock.

My impression—I may be wrong—is that the motion in the name of Deputy McKenna, which is the only private business on the Order Paper, will probably not take more than ten or fifteen minutes.

On that understanding I propose to take private business now, and to devote the remainder of the sitting to the other matters on the Order Paper.

I think it will take longer than ten or fifteen minutes. I think it will take about half an hour. I propose to employ about five minutes myself.

I would be agreeable to give until 4 o'clock.
