Vol. 7 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WAR COMPENSATION COURT.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the Minister for Finance if and when it is proposed to establish a "War Compensation Court," or to make other arrangements to deal with claims for damage caused by military operations which do not come within the terms of the Compensation Commission.

No machinery for dealing with claims of the kind referred to by the Deputy, which do not come within the Terms of Reference of the Compensation (Ireland) Commission has yet been set up and negotiations on the subject are still proceeding with the British Government. When the tribunal is established every effort will be made to secure the expeditious hearing and disposal of the claims.
