Vol. 7 No. 13

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - PERSONAL INJURIES CLAIM.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that Thomas Patridge, Breany, Ardagh, Co. Longford, has lodged a claim for £500 for personal injuries inflicted on him by British forces on the 14th of February, 1921; further, whether he is aware that the claimant was taken from the Longford Military Barracks to the Officers' Home, tied to a bed, and burned with red irons, some of the wounds being one inch deep, and whether, as Patridge is not fit to occupy his former position owing to the injuries he received at the hands of British forces, he will expedite payment of this claim.

The application for compensation referred to by the Deputy has been received by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, and will be listed for hearing at the earliest possible date.
