Vol. 7 No. 29

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - THE GLIN INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will refer the question of the abolition of the Glin Industrial School to the proposed Commission to be set up in connection with the Local Government Bill, 1924; and whether he is aware that this school is an inordinate charge on local taxation and gives no adequate return.

I do not consider that this matter is one on which the assistance of a Commission would be required.

The answer to the latter part of the question is in the negative. Any representations it is desired to make might be addressed to the Limerick County Board of Health in the first instance. I have full power at present to take any action necessary, and I am prepared to consider carefully any decision the Board may arrive at.
