Vol. 7 No. 29

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - VOLUNTEER ACCIDENTALLY SHOT.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Mrs. Mary Brougham, Quarry Street, Shillelagh, County Wicklow, has not received a pension or gratuity in respect of her son, Volunteer Myles Brougham, who was accidentally shot in the Military Barracks, Lismore Castle, Co. Waterford, on October 2nd, 1922; and whether, as this woman is in very poor circumstances at present, as her husband is an invalid in hospital for the past twelve months, her claim will be expedited.

A gratuity of £50 has been awarded to Mrs. Brougham, under the provisions of the Army Pensions Act, 1923. She was informed accordingly on the 17th ultimo, and requested to complete and return a form of life certificate which was sent to her at the same time. The form has not yet been received from her. When it is received payment of the award will be made at once.
