Vol. 7 No. 29

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - GREATER DUBLIN MOVEMENT.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether it is a fact that the organisation known as the Greater Dublin Movement has been appointed by him to act in an advisory capacity with regard to the Commission which is being set up to consider the problems of the City and County of Dublin, and if this is not the case whether all bodies interested in the matter will be given equal facilities to lay their views before the Commission.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. While the Commission will take its own course as to the manner in which its investigations will proceed, I have no doubt that all bodies interested will be given suitable facilities in the submission of evidence.

Can the Minister say what is his intention regarding the general question of Local Government? This Commission, as I understand it is suggested, should deal only with Dublin and Dublin County. There was a suggestion of another Commission to deal with the general question of Local Government. Can the Minister say anything about that?

I do not think that arises out of this question.

It is a separate question.
