Vol. 8 No. 4

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. - DAIL RESUMES.

Progress reported. The Committee to sit again on Monday, 7th July.

I understood that the arrangement was that the Estimates would be continued to-morrow.

I do not agree with Deputy Figgis in that. There are at least six Bills to come on to-morrow, and the Estimates would not come on until they are disposed of. The Military Pensions Bill will take a good deal of time, probably.

Will the Estimates be taken to-morrow?

Yes, when the items on the Order Paper have been disposed of. We will then take the Estimates for the remainder of the time.

After the Intoxicating Liquor Bill?

resumed the Chair.

Will the Intoxicating Liquor Bill be taken to-morrow?

I am not in a position at the moment to say if it will be.

Then the items on the Order Paper for to-morrow will be taken in the ordinary way. If the Intoxicating Liquor Bill is taken no Estimates will be dealt with; if it is not, the Estimates will be reached. On Monday the Estimates will be continued. As soon as the Estimates are resumed, Vote 48 will be continued.
