Vol. 8 No. 5

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - DUBLIN FISHERIES DAMAGED BY STEAM TRAWLERS.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether his attention has been called to the fact that fishermen of Loughshinny, Co. Dublin, complain that when fishing for cod their buoys and lines are often carried away by steam trawlers fishing inside the legal limit, and whether, in consequence of this, he will arrange for the "Helga" to visit the County Dublin coast more frequently.

My department has not received the complaint referred to. In drawing up the arrangements for the patrolling of the coast by the fishery cruiser "Muirchu" the necessities of all localities have to be taken into account, but the claims of the County Dublin will not be lost sight of.
