Is the Minister going to explain this Vote?
COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. - VOTE 18—SECRET SERVICES.
Motion made—
That a sum not exceeding £23,000 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1925, for expenditure in respect of Secret Services.
Perhaps the best explanation I can give is to say that it is a decreasing amount. Last year it went down from £220,000 to £50,000, and this year it is down to £35,000. I do not know that I would be right in saying that a time may come when this item will not appear, but I hope it will come.
