I move for leave to introduce the Housing (Building Facilities) (Amendment) Bill, 1924. This is just a short Bill amending the Housing Bill which the President introduced last Session, giving the same facilities to local authorities for the reconstruction of houses as under the principal Act. It also makes certain provisions in regard to enabling those houses, which were reconstructed, or the building of which was started within six months of the Act, to come within the principal Act. It also extends the space up to 1,400 feet instead of confining it to 1,000 feet.
