CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SOLDIERS' RATION AND MARRIAGE ALLOWANCE.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the reason why ration money and marriage allowance for whole period of service, and gratuity on discharge, as authorised by Defence Order No. 54, were not paid to the following National Soldiers, namely: Volunteers E. Scott, J. Behan, M. Byrne, J. Gannon, T. H. Sergeant, W. Jameson, F. Dunne, J. Byrne, P. Toole, J. Brennan, and M. Bride, employed at the Sewage Farm, Electric Light Station, Gough Pumping Station and Tractor Service Depot, Curragh Camp, and Whether he will have inquiries made with a view to expediting payment.

I regret that enquiries which are being made in the matter are not yet completed. I will, however, communicate the result to the Deputy as quickly as possible.
