Vol. 9 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - ARMY ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state why the balance of an account originally furnished for £184 11s. 9d. by Mr. Thos. Ahearn, of Clogheen, Co. Tipperary, due for billeting of National Troops and supplies furnished the National Army, has not yet been paid; and if, in view of the fact that the balance has been a long time outstanding, steps will be taken to have the account liquidated as soon as possible.

Mr. Ahearn's outstanding account could not be discharged pending the completion of certain enquiries. It is at present under local investigation by an officer of the Department of Defence who, it is expected, will call on Mr. Ahearn very shortly.
