Vol. 9 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - FIXING OF “APPOINTED DAYS.”

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can state when the tenants on the non-purchased estates in Co. Wexford may expect the fixing of the "Appointed Day" in said county, or on any particular estates in that county.

Appointed Days will be declared for estates in County Wexford when the requirements of the Statute have been complied with and all objections disposed of, and the proceedings have reached a stage when the lands can be vested in the Land Commission. There will not be one Appointed Day, but according as the Land Commission has got sufficient particulars to prepare the lists, they will be published so that cases that are ready for vesting will not have to wait for cases that are not ready, as would be the case if one Appointed Day was to be declared.

Would the Minister state what is the position? Are any of these estates ready to be declared?

On that I am afraid I cannot answer. I would require to have a separate question put down.
